Last week’s class was definitely a different turn than the week before with Chris Anderson. While it was less philosophical than I expected after reading Convergence Culture, I was quite pleased to dive into a concrete, tangible example of convergence culture lived out through our talk with David Geller on Eyejot.
The main takeaways from the class lay in what followed from our discussion a week ago with Chris Anderson and the Long Tail, where we readily agreed that the aggregates hold great power in this information economy. There is great strength in providing people the means to find things and the conduit is becoming a greater player.
Eyejot has set itself as a great conduit of providing visual communication back-and-forth. It has leveraged a growing trend in embedded cameras in hardware devices—such as laptops, desktops, and mobile phones—and provided an easy way for people to send information via the Web.
